About Us

Greenbush Safety Town is a child accident prevention program that introduces safety awareness and preventive procedures to preschool age children. The program consists of an outdoor layout and indoor classroom curriculum taught in a fun interactive way! During the course, children learn through their own involvement. Under guidance of certified personnel, a police officer, fire fighters and trained volunteers, children practice and experience "real life" situations before confronted with situations on their own. They are trained to evaluate "safe from unsafe" and learn how to react safely when confronted with dangerous situations.

After the course each child should be familiar with the following:

• Fire Safety, "Stay Low and Go", etc.
• Water Safety and Importance of Life Jackets
• Proper way to cross the street
• Importance of a crosswalk
• Colors, shapes and meanings of safety signs
• Safe places to play
• Seat belt safety
• Bicycle safety
• Stranger Danger
• Get familiar with uniformed personnel, police officer, fire fighters, bus drivers
• Importance of thinking safety and acting safely
